School Admissions – Common Application System (CAS)
As part of the Limerick Area Common Application System, we are pleased to support families in applying for 1st Year entry in September 2026.

Background
Thomond Community College is part of the Limerick Area Post-Primary Schools Common Application System (CAS). This system manages applications for students entering 1st Year across the seventeen participating post-primary schools in Limerick City and its surrounding areas. The CAS is coordinated by the Limerick Education Support Centre (LESC) and is designed to support parents and guardians by providing one clear, fair, and accessible process for applying to these schools.
Admissions Process for September 2026
Parents/guardians of students seeking to apply are asked to use the online CAS portal.

You will be asked to:
- Enter details about your child, name, date of birth, address, current primary school, PPS number.
- Provide information about siblings currently in post-primary school (if applicable).
- Rank your preferred schools from 1 to 11. (This ranking is a required part of the Common Application System.)
- Please note:
- Parents/guardians can make edits to their application up until the deadline.
- The Limerick Education Support Centre manages the application process.
- If your child does not receive a place in their first-choice school, the application will automatically be shared with schools 2–11 in the order of preference.

Parents/guardians will receive confirmation of their application:
- By email
- Visible in full on the online portal
- In a letter from the school listed as their first choice
