3rd Year student Sarah Cheung, along with fellow Limerick musicians from ICO Youth, took part in the 11th World Orchestra Festival in Vienna this July. The group participated in workshops, performed in prestigious venues including the Golden Hall of the Musikverein and earned three awards:
Special Commendation for Beginnings
Bronze Competition Award for Irish Suite
The Strauss Award
Sarah has been learning cello through the school’s extra-curricular “ICO Schools” programme, supported by tutors Tam and Ellie, under the Irish Chamber Orchestra’s education initiative.
