Greaney Family Bursary Awards 2025
Thomond Community College was delighted to host our annual Greaney Family Bursary Awards Ceremony on Friday November 28th , where we celebrated the outstanding achievements, effort and dedication of our students across all year groups.
The Greaney Awards, established in 2016 by Boston-based businessman and proud Limerick native David Greaney, recognise the top five academic achievers from 1st Year through to 6th Year. Each year, a remarkable €27,500 in bursaries is awarded, with supports ranging from €500 for 1st Year students to €2,000 for our graduating class.
This generous programme—funded by David and the Greaney family—reflects his belief in the power of education and his commitment to giving back to his former school community. Over the past years, the bursaries have made a meaningful difference in the lives of many of our students, encouraging excellence and rewarding hard work at every stage of the secondary school journey.
While David was unable to join us in person this year, he sent his warmest congratulations and best wishes to all recipients. Thomond Community College is deeply grateful for the Greaney family’s continued support and for their dedication to fostering ambition, achievement and opportunity for our students.
